Inside a Class 126 DMU

Details

The interior of Sc51010, taken from the rear of the vehicle in the non-smoking saloon looking through the smoking saloon towards the cab end. Note the lamp shades - they lack the silver rings normally found on DMUs but are the same shape.

The vehicle was an 'intermediate' Swindon Inter-City power car (DMSL) built for the Glasgow - Ayr/Girvan/Stranraer route. A Swindon Works image - negative 5CR/135, recorded in the Works photograph ledger as taken on 18 June 1959 yet the vehicle was new to Ayr in April so likely taken around that time.
