A Swindon Works image (negative 5C/275) dated 18 September 1959 described as "Leading end - headstocks fitted". It shows the front end of a 5xxxx series Inter-City (Class 126) DMBS. Note the pretty uneven bodywork on the left side and the chalk on the buckeye to make the edges stand out.
