A Swindon Works image (negative 5CR 81) showing the buffet area in brand new Cross-Country Trailer Second buffet 59255 on 8 January 1958. This shows the open serving hatch, the two lower hinged panels below counter level swung up and two keyholes can be seen in the panel above the hatch where they would be locked closed.
