An official Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon image showing the interior of a Calder Valley set. There were no details on the print, but the moquette tells us its one of the twenty Eastern Region sets. Taken from the cab end in the front saloon looking through the centre saloon to the partition for the guard's van, access to which was through a sliding door to the right. The no smoking labels in first contradict the diagrams which show first class non-smoking in the DMCL and smoking in the DMBC. Circa June 1961.
