Bedford station on 12 October 1996. Class 117 2-car unit L707 (51335/51377) has arrived working the 14.50 from Bletchley while Class 319 184 has arrived on Platform 2 with a service from the south. 51335/51377 were built by Pressed Steel in 1960 and were originally in a 3-car set with trailer 59487. They were allocated to Bletchley depot at the date of my photo, and were withdrawn from that depot in May 1998. Both vehicles were scrapped by Sims Metals in Cardiff. 319 184 was one of the second batch of Class 319s, built in 1990. It was converted to a 319/3 (by the removal of 1st class accommodation) in the period 1997-1999 and, as such, is still in service with Northern Trains.
