Leaning into the curve alongside the Hayle Estuary, Class 118 Driving Motor Second W51328 (and presumably 59509 + 51313) had arrived at Lelant Saltings with the branch service from St Ives on July 30th 1980. The single platform station at Lelant Saltings, on the St Erth to St Ives line was opened in 1978 as a 'Park & Ride' facility for the town of St Ives.
