Under blue skies, redundant railway land and a boarded-up signalbox greet a refurbished Class 116 three-car DMU (P317 - 50858, 59492, 50911), as it was arriving at the East Devon seaside resort of Exmouth with a service from Exeter St Davids on July 22nd 1979. A far-cry from the days when on a Summer Saturday the terminus here handled through services to London Waterloo and the North.
