Details

The badly damaged cab of a Derby Heavyweight DMU after colliding with a B1 steam loco at Bracebridge Gas Sidings Signalbox near Lincoln on January 25, 1963. Despite the extent of the damage, no Class 114 DMBS would be withdrawn after this date until 1968. Was it repaired or did it languish unused somewhere for five years? Image 2 from the official accident report, neg ref. BR 10424.
