Parcels Use
22 DMBS's were given an extra lease
of life, being converted into Parcels cars in 1985, after storage at
Carlisle, including 51591 which had to be reclaimed from the NRM. They
were formed into 11 2-car sets, with seats removed, and after a few
months returned to Carlisle Currock for fitting of roller shutters.
All were withdrawn in May 89, except 55974 (51642) which had been
withdrawn in Nov 86.
