Almost all 126s were
delivered in Multiple Unit Green with cream lining. The two exceptions
(the Ayrshire Buffets) appeared in the darker Brunswick Green. Initial
repaints were into Brunswick and then, in the late 1960s, the two
batches diverged. E. & G. cars were repainted in the new
"Inter-City" blue and grey but the Ayrshire stock had to
make do with all-blue until blue and grey was applied from 1977.
