Delivered in lined DMU green with no speed whiskers, these were soon
added. When new all the vehicles except the first set (50001/56001)
had white cab roof domes. They were the first vehicles to have the
route indicators, and when delivered this two-character system was not
in use, so the were wound to the white part of the blind. This caused
a few rumours as to a new kind of warning panel! n the early '60s these gave way to yellow panels, and in the
late '60s the whole end became yellow when corporate rail blue livery
was introduced. Refurbishment saw them in off white with blue stripe,
this being replaced by blue / grey.

into SYPTE's coffee and cream colours in 1984, seen here at Rotherham
that year. Eastwestdivide |
Parcel cars
eventually received the red parcels livery, with twin yellow stripes
just above solebar level, and yellow diagonal stripes on the roller
shutters.
