Met-Cam produced 760 DMU vehicles in the 79xxx series and of Class 101/102/111. In order to deal with the vehicles in a more organised fashion, I have split them up into batches. The batches are determined by their order from the BTC to Met-Cam, and then split up within these orders as required.

Looking at the vehicles in this fashion also helps explain some of the changes in vehicle details, particularly those that were not numerical.

The British Transport Commission placed five separate orders totaling 760 vehicles.

Order one - 36 power/trailers for the LMR/ER. They were ordered in May '54.
