They
were delivered in cream lined loco green with whiskers, white
cab domes, grey roofs and red buffer beams. About '63 yellow
panels replaced the whiskers. All blue livery was
introduced in the mid-late '60s then eventually blue / grey around 1979.
When the local PTE adopted the branding "GG Trans
Clyde" in the early '80s, this was emblazened on the
side, beneath the first window behind the drivers door.
Early '84, set 444 (52005 / 59804 / 52051)was the first DMU to be
painted into the new Strathclyde PTE orange (officially called
Strathclyde Red) and black livery. From 11/84 the other sets were
progressively painted into the colours.
By 1989 fifteen sets were painted into the Strathclyde
PTE livery of orange and black.
After the discontinuation of train
indicators the roof mounted boxes were painted over in
the roof colour.
