The class numbers shown are those first given when TOPS was introduced in the late '60s. In the late '70s they were all re-classified as simply Class 105s.

In later years, the 50xxx vehicles were renumbered into the 53xxx series, as were 56xxx vehicles which became 54xxx. This was to avoid clashing with Class 50 and 56 locos on TOPS.

The NE prefix was only carried for a brief period by some vehicles.
