Leeds Neville Hill blind, 1960s. Black fabric
with white capital lettering. There were three stitched sections.
The long destinations are all in one line. There were also scribblings
from drivers “NO SCARBOROUGH”, “NO MORECABE” (spelling!) and
“NO YORK, SCARBORO” even though York is there and not on one of
the stitched-on sections. There were also scribblings from the depot
“50281” (Class 111/2 DMBS) and “51550” (Class 111/2 DMBS)
- for this vehicle see the Railway Industry Association photo on
page 34 of Brian Haresnape’s British Rail Fleet Survey No. 8 and
page 111 of Brian Morrison’s British Rail DMUs and Diesel Railcars.
Could it be the same blind as in the photo?!
