29/03/91 - 51941 + 52064 arrived at the Severn Valley Railway. They were a replacement for 53454 + 53528 which were originally destined for the line but were found to contain asbestos between the underframe and floor. The 108 set, T068, was made available instead after a proposed sale to Balfour Beatty for a Channel Tunnel inspection unit was cancelled.
A 3-car Buxton allocated Derby built Class 108 DMU comprising of M52064, M59380 and M51941 pulls into Chapel-en-le-Frith with a Manchester Piccadilly - Buxton working on the 14th May 1988. Andrew J Crowther.
CH376 (M52064 + M59183 + M51941) approach New Mills Newtown on the 08:22 Buxton to Piccadilly, 13-5-89. The two power cars were preserved on the Severn Valley Railway, and the center car is one of the few Class 104 cars to be painted blue/grey. Kevin Dowd.
