Date: 9th July 1981

Set number: 105375

On July 9th 1981, the 10.58 Dunblane - Edinburgh dmu arrives at Falkirk Grahamston. This is my only picture of a Cravens car in blue/grey livery. 51479 is marshalled in a 3 car set with two Metro-Cammell vehicles, the rear one is SC50748 but I have no record of the centre car. The Cravens car was withdrawn in November 1981 and has already lost its destination blind. It is showing set number 375 which has later been prefixed with 105. It spent all its 22 years in service in Scotland. Gerard Fletcher.

The vehicle is mentioned in the following images:

DMU

Date: 25th July 1981

The 'Strathmore Berry Picker' railtour at Forfar on the 25th July 1981. Set 378 comprised two Class 105 DMBS vehicles in blue/grey - presumably 51479 and 51483. It has an unknown Met-Camm centre car, and bubble car 55011 on the rear. Mike Cooper.
