15/5/74 at Par. A class 120 dmu shortened to a 2 car unit waits for its next turn on the Newquay branch. Set P554 is presumably formed of 51575 + 51584. Stephen Burdett.

16th May 1974

P554 (presumably 51575 + 51584) heads for Penzance at St Austell on 16/5/74. The parcels office seems to be generating good business. The attractive GWR buildings have been replaced by a modern structure. Stephen Burdett.

Swindon built Class 120/1 DMU no. 51575 is seen at Looe forming the front coach of a 2 car unit on the 1500 hrs to Liskeard on July 10, 1975. Suthen Softy.

August 1975

Liskeard, August 1975. The Looe branch train has been strengthened to three cars, with Class 120 DMBC W51575 from set P554 added to what is probably a two-car Class 118. Tony Watson.

On Tuesday 15 June 1976 at 13:30 Laira (LA) based Swindon Cross Country dmu set P554 (W51584 visible) leaves St Ives with the 13:27 to St Erth. Mr Deltic.

On Tuesday 15 June 1976 at 13:00 Laira (LA) based Swindon Cross Country P554 (W51575 and W51584 with a suburban centre car) is seen at St Ives after arriving with the 12:45 from St Erth. Mr Deltic.

Class 120 car W51584 is seen at Gunnislake on 30 September 1978, coupled with W51575. 51584 was new in 1961 at Tyseley, Birmingham and withdrawn in March 1987 by which time it had moved to Ayr in Scotland. Jeremy Chapter.
