1983

Class 117 set B429 (presumably 51409 + 59519 + 51367) in Swindon station in 1983. It was a Bristol set from May 1982 to May 1986 when it moved to Reading. John Law.

Class 117 DMU at Keynsham

23rd September 1983

Way out. Sorry about the motion blur on this one - clearly the unit was making a spirited getaway! Even by this date I was starting to get sloppy about record keeping: a first-generation dmu (set B429, presumably 51367 + 59519 + 51409) leaves Keynsham station with the 17:20 Bristol - Warminster service on Friday 23rd September 1983. Class 117 B429 (presumably 51409 + 59519 + 51367) arrives at Cradley Heath 6/10/1984 with a Kidderminster to Birmingham New Street service. The down platform came into use in January 1984. A new bus station was also being established adjacent to the station. Stephen Burdett.
