1979

Class 122 Sc55000 in Edinburgh Waverley in 1979. Note the rather old fashioned style of font for the front unit number, set 223, quite a few of the Haymarket based units had this. S Saunders.

7th April 1979

Met-Camm set 223 Dundee at 1346 on Saturday 7th April 1979 - note the window bars on the DMC passenger doors and lack of destination blind - a recent transfer from the Newcastle area? Not sure why the DMU should be running as the terminating service from Edinburgh is due in at 1352... could be early as the red tail light is still illuminated and the station clock may be a little slow? 27th October 1979

Class 122 SC55000 - carrying set number 223 - is standing in for a Class 101 DMCL in this formation departing from Stirling on 27 October 1979. A Class 101 is on the left. Brian Daniels.

9th January 1981

A Dundee based Metro-Cammell trailer-brake Class 101 unit - set 223 - tops the summit at Lochmuir in Fife with 2G54 1220 Dundee to Edinburgh service on 9th January 1981. The set is framed by the sad remnants of the NB box and the up home post; the down loop was also lifted and only some rails remain. Bruce Galloway.
