Left: This was a 4-car formation of 2x101 power
twins which hit a farm tractor at speed on a crossing about
one mile north of Llandrindod Wells while travelling south on
a summer Saturday afternoon in the late 1980s. Fortunately
there were no injuries. The damaged power twin was removed and
parked in the siding for about a week. The 100 or so
passengers piled into the second unit and left Llandrindod
about one hour late. The damaged unit remained in the siding
for about one week and was then coupled to a south bound
