This gallery features British United Traction ads from the '50s. BUT was a joint venture between Leyland and AEC, set up after the war to produce road vehicles. With the imminent modernisation of the railways they set up a rail section and eventually supplied something like 75% of all the DMU engines and control equipment in the UK, and also had extensive sales abroad. They were not so succesful with their complete rail vehicles in this country though. A future gallery will cover BUT ads featuring overseas items.

Apologies for the quality of the scans. They only photcopy I could get of some were in large bound volumes so they couldn't copy flat. (I couldn't take them home to scan them in direct.)
