This Met-Cam had just arrived at Durham Station from Sunderland on a quiet summer saturday afternoon in 1962.  It was then of the standard combination of Motor Brake Second and Composite Trailer. Roy Lambeth

1965
September

The Gosforth Round Table organised "The Bellingham Belle" excursion.  It ran from Newcastle Central Station to West Woodburn on the old North British in England line from Morpeth to Reedsmouth Junction.  Previously the excursion had run through to Bellingham on The Border Counties line to Riccarton Junction but by 1965 only the stretch from Morpeth to West Woodburn survived. This excursion ran faily regularly each September to The Bellingham Agricultural Show.  It show on of the 6 car units which included a miniature buffet car (one of which survives in preservation). 7th April

A 3-car unit stands at Boat of Garten whilst operating the first passenger services between the stations since 1965. The unit had run from Edinburgh earlier in the day and returned south after operating the shuttle service. John McIntyre

June

A 2-car unit at Fraserburgh in June 1974 with an Angus Rail Group special, the "Buchan Belle". The train had to terminate in the goods yard because the tracks into the station had been lifted by this time.  John McIntyre
