Class 101s

Two views of a unit at Bishop Auckland in April 1984, when the station was being redesigned. It's sitting on the old line from Durham, which had closed in 1964, an area which us now a Halford's / Barclays Bank. Roy Lambeth.

Left: This Class 101 DMC, and part of the centre car behind, have suffered fire damage when seen at Wensum Sidings, Norwich on 6/7/91. Mark Rowe notes that it had been travelling back empty stock from Ipswich to Crown Point when fire broke out & driver Mick Kassa brought the train to a stand at Trowse Upper Junction in the Lakenham area of Norwich. It was around midnight & damage was also done to the relatively new OHL which had been installed for the 1987 inaugaration of electric services to London Liverpool Street.  Right: 45 055 is seen at the head of a 101 set at Manchester Victoria, 18/5/83.
